La Chapelle Rouge 2019
Vineyards: Using the Domaine’s oldest vines which date back to 1956. These old free-standing goblets styled vines are low yielding high quality vineyards.
Winemaking : Cuvée only made in the best years. Manual harvest. Traditional vinification in stainless steel vats then aging for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Grape variety : Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes: Beautiful intense purple color.
Nose: very seductive, raspberry, blackcurrant, notes of gingerbread and liquorice, cocoa background.
Palate: robust, beautiful tannic structure, ample on black fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, spicy and smoky notes, small balsamic hint bringing a light acidity. Beautiful persistence of aromas.
Pairing: Provencal game meats, fillet of beef with truffles, aged cheese. Wine to decant for a tasting now. Good aging potential: 15 years.
